Walter Girl B's Room of Scientific Discovery and Kitty-Cat Cuteness

The room that Brianna has taken within the boarding house is a smallish bedroom located on the second floor, tucked out of sight and generally unnoticed by all. She keeps it tidy at all times, as Brianna prefers to keep things in their proper places, but with a happy cat bounding from here to there at times, it can sometimes get a little out of sorts.
Though Brianna can often be found more down in the workshop or attending to the automatons she's been charged with taking care of, there are moments of downtime in which she can be tracked down her lonely little room.

A kiss was placed against the top of Brianna's head as he slipped by, just an affectionate sort of gesture, "Always happy to see you, too." Which was true.
With the few choices Spine just opted for sitting on the edge of the bed with something of a slightly awkward shift. He already knew the bed could support him from other visits, not really wanting to take the same chance with the tiny chair, hands settled there in his lap, "I.. uh.. Hope you managed to get some sleep even after all of the noise pretty early this mornin'," or last night. It was sort of somewhere between there wasn't it?

There was a smile offered, but as much as she tried to hide the touch of concern for him in it, Brianna could feel herself failing, the sparkle that usually reached her blue eyes absent for once. "I'm sure it wasn't nearly as loud as you think." Not necessarily a lie. "But I was already up. Someone had the zoomies and was feeling particularly chatty." A pointed look down to the sleeping spoiled brat, the cat happily curled up in his pet bed that was surrounded by an almost obscene amount of toys.

"Probably seemed a lot louder to me," what had registered at least, for a moment he hadn't even known he was the one screaming untill he'd noticed Rabbit was trying to get him to stop. Rough night, really, "Was wonderin' if you'd mind me spendin' a night with you, not sure I can got back to my room just yet."
Not beating around the bush, nope.

Brianna smiled at the question, her slim form gracefully crossing the small distance between them so the woman could bend to press a quick kiss to that silver nose, the slightest touch of blue blossoming at her pale cheeks. "I wouldn't mind in the slightest. I wasn't joking when I say you are always welcome here. My space is yours too. I'd be happy to have you stay with me. For however long as you like."
no subject
He reached out just so he could take one of Brianna's hands into his own, that smile of his much less forced as soft as it might've been now, "Just worry sometimes I might be takin' up too much of your time," because he had to share it, she no doubt had things she wanted to do, to work on. As much as he loved spending time with her he didn't want to be crowding, "My space is yours too, just right now I.. I just don't want to go back in there yet."
He would eventually, had gone back briefly to at least change into more casual clothing for the day. Settling down in there for the end of the day was an entirely different thing.

Once he was reaching out to take her hand, Brianna took that as an invitation to inch closer, to wrap her warm, fleshy fingers around his while her other hand went to rest at the man's shoulder, her legs bumping against his knees. Even in a sitting position, the Walter Girl still didn't have an advantage in height over the towering automaton, but at least at this position, she didn't have to stretch up on her tip-toes to press a sweet kiss to his lips, which was exactly what the woman was doing.
"It would be impossible for you to take up too much of my time, Spine. Not when all that I want is to spend every minute of every day with you." Brianna, if the two jobs and incredible work ethic hadn't been hint enough, was a bit of a workaholic. She did not enjoy downtime unless she believed she had rightfully earned it, but even if she did treasure what little free time she managed to schedule on her own, spending it with The Spine would always be preferable to spending it alone.
One of her delicate hands found it's way to his face, palm affectionately cupping at his cheek. "Please don't ever feel selfish for wanting to spend time with me."

The kiss had caught him a little by surprise, but it ewasn't long before a tenseness in his posture that he'd not been aware of simply vanished, leaving him leaning forward and returning that kiss. Keeping a careful hold of her hands as his thumb brushed over skin slowly, warming metal against soft flesh. Every little kiss was something he treasured-
What a woman, "Brianna, darlin'..." Just wow. His head tilted slightly at the palm there, leaning into it as he gave her hand a little squeeze, "You sure know how to make me speechless, takin' any little worry away."
Sap.

Brianna couldn't help the blush darkening at her cheeks, the flutter of happiness caught within her ribcage, the woman silently savoring every single press of their lips or touch of metal to skin that they shared. "Good," unable to hide her smile or the way that happiness was reaching her eyes. "Then I know I'm doing my job right."
Slim fingers were trailing gently along the symmetrical lines of The Spine's face, brushing against his silver plating, sliding up to his hairline. Then, as much as she may have regretted it, Brianna pulled away, just out of kissing distance, to shoot her boyfriend a sheepish look. "Let me just change and get The Stripe settled for the night and I'll be all yours." A delicate pause. "Um, for reading or sleeping or whatever you want."
That blush was not going to be disappearing anytime soon.

He'd never get tired of that smile, no matter what.
Just like he'd never get tired of her touch, letting go of her hand with a little reluctance on his part as well, flashing her another smile, "I can step out, should make sure my boiler's topped off for the night and all." Then he'd be back for reading, or sleeping, or whatever the night led to.
He'd not really thought ahead beyond asking, feeling like he just needed this, to stay with her for the night.

How funny that they'd nearly been together two years and Brianna still found herself getting overwhelmed by every shared kiss, her tiny heart beating so rapidly within her chest that she sometimes felt she may faint just from gazing too long into that oh so handsome face.
No matter how he may protest, The Spine was just too perfect to be real and it still took the woman by surprise, years later.
Clearing her throat, the Walter Girl at least managed to get some of the girlish giddiness out of her voice. "I'll only need just a minute."

"Won't be too long, just have to walk down to the kitchen and back," wasn't too much a trip, maybe give him a moment to collect himself a little better now that he... really didn't have anything else to worry about tonight. Not even another mishap with his spines, the locking mechanism for when they retracted tightened back up so there'd not be another slip/accidental triggering in the night.
Someone needed to get more regular check-ups, stress and all, "I'll be back," Heading out the door for said trip to the kitchen and back.

The Stripe slept on as Brianna refilled his food dish and ran across the hallway to get the cat some fresh water, leaving both bowls next to the pet bed. Windows were shut, shades were drawn, and then everything seemed to be in place. Now to just pull back the comforter and sheets on her bed and wait...

So it was with a full boiler that Spine knocked before slipping back into Brianna's room slowly, turning the lock back into place. He'd had to unlock the door on his way out after all, so locking it back wasn't really questioned in his mind.
"Thanks for lettin' me stay the night, darlin'." He meant it, too.

It had taken far too long for the lesson to be learned, but at least The Spine was finally getting it: he never had to deal with anything alone. That is what Brianna had been there for, what his family had been there for. To help share some of the burden that he'd become so overwhelmed with. And now that that lesson had finally been beaten into him, it was time for him to heal and find his happiness again.
"It's nothing," Brianna greeted the man again with a smile, waving a hand towards the bed. "Do you have a preferred side? I usually just take whatever The Stripe doesn't want, so I don't mind either way."
As long as she was near him, what else mattered?
no subject
Lesson learned, and Spine was going to do his best not to forget it again. No, it ws something best remembered to prevent that slow downward spiral he'd gotten himself onto the path of.
"I don't really, no," it was just whatever side he got in on usually, and that depended on what he' been doing before getting into bed. Walking over as he sat on the edge of it for the moment, "Reckon it's just whatever side we fall into on our own-
"Might be somethin' of a tight fit," amusement in his tone, "Wouldn't mind just makin' myself a place beside the bed if need be." Hard to tell if joking or suggesting.
no subject
"I don't mind a tight fit with you..." Oh wait, that came out wrong. Mission abort, mission abort! "Um, I mean--" Drat, just when that blue-tinted flushed had died down. "Oh, you know what I mean. I won't have you sleeping on the floor. We'll be fine on space."
no subject
At least he didn't move if he did manage to slip off into stasis, and he didn't want to keep her from sleeping either. Tonight... Tonight he just needed her company.
no subject
Brianna tilted her head just enough so that blue lips could softly brush against The Spine's thumb, the woman barely able to hold back her own giggles at that slip of the tongue, especially with the way The Spine looked attempting to keep his laughter in check. Seeing him so happy always had her heart thumping nosily in her chest, hands twisting into the fabric of her nightgown. "Good. I'll have you know that 'no arguing' is the first rule of staying in my room."
Nerd.
no subject
"Think I can follow that rule," his mood these days was so much better than it had been getting. Something he was quietly thankful for, and likely everyone else around him, too. No more avoiding people and just... closing in on himself to keep his problems to himself.
None of that tonight, nope. "Any others I should know about?" Playfully, stealing a quick kiss with a soft smile.
no subject
"Wellll", her tone more animated than her usual level, endlessly calm voice. That hint of giddiness was back, just further emphasized by the look of happiness that seemed to fully encompass her expression. "I believe the rules state that you are allowed to stay the night in exchange for at least five more kisses. You're free to pay up now or wait till later."
no subject
Well worth it, really.
"Might give a few extra," Spine was indeed leaning in for another kiss as he spoke, unable to resist at the moment. Nerd.

Already this evening was turning out to be a huge improvement over the evenings she'd spent alone the last few months, and most of that was thanks to the handsome man currently perched on the edge of her bed, kissing her. How could Brianna not swoon a little with each kiss, cheeks flushing just a little bit more with each touch exchanged...
"You may just rack up enough points to stay another night or two, if you keep up with that."
no subject
It was more than just his hand rested on Brianna's waist then, an arm wrapped around her as he kept leaned in nice and close, stolen kisses turning slower and more lingering once he'd finished speaking. Oh, she'd be getting a lot more than just five if she wanted.
no subject
Brianna was content enough to quiet down as she let each kiss do the talking for her instead, delicate chin tilting just enough to let the silver automaton in closer, a soft hum of approval at the back of her throat as both hands curled carefully around his neck. As long as they were both there, with a comfortable place to sit and a locked door to keep the too curious out, the pair may as well make the best of their situation and catch up on a few missed kisses these past few months.
Still, even if each soft, lingering kiss seemed to steal her breath away, the Walter Girl did manage to mumble out a sweetly muttered "I love you" somewhere between presses of lips and caresses of fleshy fingers against sleek metal.
no subject
Fingers brushed through her hair, pulling back after a while just so that B could catch her breath, pressing a kiss near the corner of her mouth, "I love you, too." Meaning it with all he could put behind it, no sense in denying what he felt being real after this long now.
